Beau vide-poche vintage en albâtre calcitique rubané, dit onyx d’Égypte, artisanat Égyptien vintage des années 1960-1970. Entièrement taillé et poli à la main, forme élégante oblongue, navette. Pierre aux nuances crème, miel et blanc, traversées de veines naturelles parallèles, magnifique translucidité à la lumière.
25cm de long, 12cm de large et 2,5cm de haut. Très bel état général, sans fêle ni éclat, avec quelques traces de dépolissage dans le fond visibles uniquement sous une lumière rasante, petites rayures légères et une petite marque de frottement discrète sur l’une des pointes; les lignes visibles dans la pierre correspondent à ses veines naturelles. Environ 200gr, très fin.

A beautiful vintage catch-all tray made of banded calcitic alabaster—often referred to as "Egyptian onyx"—crafted in Egypt during the 1960s or 1970s. Entirely hand-carved and polished, it features an elegant, elongated, shuttle-like shape. The stone displays shades of cream, honey, and white, traversed by natural parallel veining, and offers magnificent translucency when held against the light.
Dimensions: 25 cm long, 12 cm wide, and 2.5 cm high. It is in excellent overall condition with no cracks or chips; there are some faint scuff marks on the base (visible only in raking light), minor light scratches, and a small, inconspicuous rub mark on one of the tips. The visible lines within the stone are natural veins. Weight: approximately 200 g; the piece is finely crafted.
