Rare vase japonais ancien porcelaine polychrome, époque Meiji, circa 1880-1900
Rare et très joli petit vase japonais ancien en porcelaine fine, à décor polychrome peint à la main, marqué en rouge sous la base, signature partiellement effacée. Epoque Meiji, circa 1880-1900. Décor particulièrement riche de fleurs, papillons et réserves figuratives représentant d’un côté une geisha accompagnée d’un enfant, et de l’autre un samouraï en mouvement, sur un fond d'un magnifique turquoise le tout rehaussé à l’origine de dorure dont subsistent quelques vestiges.
14,5cm de haut, environ 13cm de diamètre max, 6,5cm de diamètre au pied. Très bel état général pour son âge, dorure estompée, choc en étoile très discret sur la partie haute, patine à l’intérieur, quelques petits sauts d’émail coloré et défauts de fabrication, notamment un manque d’émail sur une fleur bleue, petit éclat sous la base invisible une fois posé et non fragilisant, quelques salissures au col ainsi qu’un minuscule trou sur le pourtour intérieur du goulot. Environ 400-500gr.

Rare and lovely small antique Japanese fine porcelain vase featuring hand-painted polychrome decoration; it bears a red mark on the base, though the signature is partially worn. Meiji period, circa 1880–1900. The design is richly detailed with flowers, butterflies, and figurative panels—depicting a geisha with a child on one side and a samurai in motion on the other—set against a magnificent turquoise background; the piece was originally embellished with gilding, of which traces remain.
14.5 cm high, approximately 13 cm maximum diameter, 6.5 cm base diameter. Very good overall condition for its age; the gilding is faded, and there is a very faint star-shaped impact mark on the upper section. Interior patina is present, along with a few small losses of colored enamel and manufacturing flaws—notably a missing patch of enamel on a blue flower. There is a small chip under the base (invisible when displayed and not compromising structural integrity), some soiling at the neck, and a tiny hole on the inner rim of the mouth. Weight: approximately 400–500 g.
