Environ 2kg.

🇬🇧  Rare vintage Oriental silver-plated covered serving dish, mid-20th century.

A very elegant, covered Oriental serving dish in silver-plated metal—likely of Moroccan manufacture—comprising a tripod tray with two handles, a removable intermediate section, and a domed lid with a ball finial. It dates from the mid-20th century (1950s–1970s). It features a beautiful, classic, and understated profile, accented by beaded borders and shell-motif handles and feet. The underside of the lid bears a stamped mark consisting of a five-pointed star surrounded by Arabic script.

Maximum width including handles: 40 cm; maximum tray diameter: 30 cm; base height: 4.8 cm. Intermediate section: 25.5 cm diameter, 4 cm high. Lid: 21 cm diameter, 9 cm high (including finial) or approx. 6 cm (excluding finial). Very good overall condition for its age; there is a slight residual patina despite recent cleaning (including a lighter patch) and some surface scratches from use on the exterior. The interior shows minor silver loss—revealing an underlying metal that is also silver-toned (possibly nickel silver/alpaca)—along with small traces of oxidation and more pronounced scratches from use on the tray bottom. Weight: approx. 2 kg.
