ND de Metz épreuve en terre cuite signée Jacques Martin années 1900

Grande statuette, épreuve en terre cuite biscuit, non émaillée, de Notre Dame de Metz, original signé par l'artiste Jacques Martin en creux sur coté du socle. Ancienne, début XXe, circa 1900-1930, la statue de Metz datant de 1924. Très beau niveau de détail, grande Vierge à l'Enfant debout sur socle octogonal, teinte naturelle de terre cuite non émaillée, nuance de brique et de orange pâle. 38cm de hauteur, environ 12cm de largeur, environ 14cm de profondeur max. Restauration amateur partielle, l'avant bras et la main de l'Enfant ont été recréés, main dans une position différente de l'original, la zone autour, bras de la vierge, épaule de l'enfant, une partie du dos sont d'une teinte légèrement plus claire et un peu plus lisses car peintes. Globalement assez discret, visible surtout de prés pour oeil avisé et surtout à l'arrière au dos de l'enfant. En dehors de cela, une fissure sur la manche à l'arrière de l'épaule de l'enfant, petite réparation discrète sur le bas de la toge à derrière le pied se trouvant à l'arrière. Discret. Le reste est en très bel état. Environ 1,700kg.

Very beautiful level of detail, large Virgin and Child standing on octagonal base, natural color of unglazed terracotta, shade of brick and pale orange. 38cm high, approximately 12cm wide, approximately 14cm deep max. Partial amateur restoration, the forearm and hand of the Child have been recreated, hand in a different position from the original, the area around, arms of the Virgin, shoulder of the Child, part of the back are of a slightly lighter color and a little smoother because painted. Overall quite discreet, visible especially up close for the trained eye and especially at the back on the back of the child. Other than that, there is a crack on the sleeve at the back of the child's shoulder, and a small, discreet repair on the bottom of the toga behind the foot at the back. Discreet.
