Miroir fenêtre Rajasthan en os peint main décor cavalier ancien début XXe
Magnifique et rare miroir fenêtre indien, artisanat Rajasthan en os de buffle peint à la main, décor de cavaliers et chameaux dans le goût des miniatures Rajput. Art populaire ancien, début XXe siècle années 1920-1930. Belle finesse d’exécution, peinture détaillée, travail de qualité. Structure en bois recouverte de plaques d’os. Ferrures anciennes. Volets ouvrants. Miroir possiblement remplacé plus récemment. On notera une inscription gravée dans la bois sur l'intérieur d'un des volet, illisible.
36,5cm de hauteur, 36cm de largeur max, 3cm d’épaisseur. Très bel état général. Usures d’usage, petits manques de peinture laissant apparaître l’os nu blanc, 1 rivet manquant au dos sans incidence, absence du bloqueur de serrure. Traces et marquages anciens au revers et numéro 46 entouré au stylo à l’intérieur d'un des volets, marquages de fabrication ou ancienne référence. Poids environ 2kg.

Magnificent and rare Indian window mirror, handcrafted in Rajasthan from hand-painted buffalo bone, decorated with horsemen and camels in the style of Rajput miniatures. Antique folk art, early 20th century, 1920s-1930s. Beautifully executed, detailed painting, high-quality craftsmanship. Wooden frame covered with bone panels. Antique hardware. Opening shutters. The mirror may have been replaced more recently. There is an illegible inscription carved into the wood on the inside of one of the shutters.
36.5 cm high, 36 cm maximum width, 3 cm thick. Very good overall condition. Signs of wear consistent with age, small areas of paint loss revealing the bare white bone, one rivet missing on the back (not affecting functionality), lock stopper missing. Traces and old markings on the reverse and the number 46 circled in pen inside one of the shutters, possibly a manufacturing mark or former reference number. Weight approximately 2 kg.
