Grande jobbana ancienne de Fès en faïence polychrome, Maroc XXe
Très belle et grande jobbana traditionnelle de Fès, au Maroc, en faïence polychrome entièrement décorée à la main et portant une signature ou un monogramme sous la base. Ancienne, probablement de la première moitié du XXe siècle, circa 1930-1960. Ce grand pot couvert, traditionnellement appelé jobbana et notamment utilisé comme pot à beurre, présente une importante panse arrondie surmontée d'un large couvercle conique à prise turquoise. Riche décor floral et végétal stylisé organisé en réserves, peint dans une belle palette de bleu cobalt, turquoise, jaune, vieux rose et brun sur fond blanc. Très beau travail artisanal de Fès, particulièrement décoratif et de grand format.
28cm de haut avec le couvercle, 23cm de diamètre max, 14,5cm de haut pour le pot seul. Très bel état général, sans fêle ni éclat relevé. Usures de l'émail notamment sur la prise du couvercle et les liserés des rebords. Quelques irrégularités et reprises du décor et de l'émail, vraisemblablement liées à la fabrication artisanale ou à la cuisson, discrètes et sans incidence sur le très bel aspect général de la pièce. Environ 2kg.

A magnificent, large traditional *jobbana* from Fez, Morocco, made of polychrome earthenware; it is entirely hand-decorated and bears a signature or monogram on the underside. A vintage piece, likely dating from the first half of the 20th century (circa 1930–1960). This large lidded vessel—traditionally known as a *jobbana* and often used as a butter pot—features a substantial, rounded body topped by a wide conical lid with a turquoise finial. It displays rich, stylized floral and foliate ornamentation arranged in panels, painted in a beautiful palette of cobalt blue, turquoise, yellow, dusty rose, and brown against a white background. An exquisite example of Fez craftsmanship; large in scale and highly decorative.
Height: 28 cm (including lid); maximum diameter: 23 cm; height of pot alone: 14.5 cm. Excellent overall condition, with no cracks or chips noted. There is some wear to the glaze, particularly on the lid's finial and along the rim edges. Some minor irregularities and touch-ups to the decoration and glaze—likely resulting from the artisanal manufacturing or firing process—are discreet and do not detract from the piece's striking overall appearance. Weight: approximately 2 kg.
