Environ 3kg.
🇬🇧 Large Jean Goardère Brutalist brass and pewter mirror, 1970s
Beautiful large Brutalist wall mirror in brass and pewter by French artist and designer Jean Goardère. Fine French handcrafted work characteristic of his style, with a wide hand-cut and hand-worked metal frame enhanced with brass edging, irregular welded pewter lines and small raised decorative details. Vintage from the 1970s. Beautiful free-form shield-like shape, with an intentionally raw and irregular finish typical of Brutalist design. The mirror is mounted on a black-painted wooden back panel and retains its original hanging fixture. A decorative, substantial and beautifully made piece.
58cm high, 44.5cm max width. Very good overall condition. The mirror plate shows some age-related spotting, pitting and small marks, mainly visible at close range, consistent with the age and character of the piece. Approx. 3kg.
