Grand masque mural vintage Barong de Bali en bois sculpté 1960-1980
Très beau grand masque mural de Barong en bois sculpté artisanalement, marqué "BALI" en creux à l’arrière. Vintage, de la seconde moitié du XXe siècle crica 196-1980. Monoxyle en bois exotique, possiblement teck, laissée dans une belle teinte naturelle et non peinte. Visage très richement sculpté, à décor de volutes, cornes et éléments ajourés, avec une légère asymétrie naturelle entre les deux côtés. Crochet de suspension présent à l’arrière.
47cm de haut, 26,5cm de large et 13cm de profondeur max. Bel état général. On note plusieurs accidents anciens et discrets : une moustache à l’avant a été recollée, des manques sont présents sur trois cornes ainsi que sur la pointe de chaque oreille, un craquement naturel du bois apparaît sur le côté gauche au bas de la couronne, et une légère usure est visible sur la pointe inférieure gauche de la barbe. L’ensemble conserve néanmoins une très belle présentation grâce à la teinte uniforme du bois qui a été nourri. Environ 1,200kg.

A beautiful, large, hand-carved wooden Barong wall mask, stamped "BALI" on the back. A vintage piece from the second half of the 20th century (circa 1960–1980). Carved from a single piece of exotic wood—possibly teak—and left in a lovely, unpainted natural finish. The face is intricately carved, featuring scrollwork, horns, and openwork elements, with a slight natural asymmetry between the two sides. A hanging hook is attached to the back.
Dimensions: 47 cm high, 26.5 cm wide, and 13 cm maximum depth. Good overall condition. There are several minor, older imperfections: one of the front mustache sections has been reattached; there are small losses on three of the horns and the tips of both ears; a natural wood crack appears on the left side near the base of the crown; and slight wear is visible on the lower left tip of the beard. Despite this, the piece retains a striking appearance, thanks to the uniform tone of the well-nourished wood. Weight: approximately 1.2 kg.
