Grand crocodile ancien Sarreguemines faïence Art Déco années 1930

Magnifique grand crocodile en faïence émaillée crème de la manufacture de Sarreguemines, ancien des années 1930 dans un style Art déco. Représenté allongé au bord d'une terrasse herbeuse. Son émail crème présente un fin réseau de craquelures naturelles, typique des productions anciennes de la manufacture, tandis que la base porte une estampille Sarreguemines, difficile à lire car faiblement imprimée à la fabrication. Cette grande pièce décorative constitue un bel exemple des créations animalières françaises de l'entre-deux-guerres et trouvera aussi bien sa place dans un intérieur Art déco que contemporain.
 
43cm de longueur, 15cm de largeur max et 12cm de hauteur max. Très bel état général, sans éclat ni fêle, avec un fin craquelage naturel de l'émail et une légère patine d'usage sur le socle, à l'avant de la queue ainsi qu'à son extrémité. Environ 1,5kg.

A magnificent, large Art Deco-style crocodile in cream-glazed earthenware, produced by the Sarreguemines manufactory in the 1930s. It is depicted lying at the edge of a grassy terrace. The cream glaze features a fine network of natural crazing—typical of the factory's vintage pieces—while the base bears a Sarreguemines stamp that is difficult to read due to a faint original impression. This large decorative piece is a fine example of French animal-themed art from the interwar period and would suit both Art Deco and contemporary interiors. 
 
43 cm in length, 15 cm maximum width, and 12 cm maximum height. Excellent overall condition, free of chips or cracks, with fine natural glaze crazing and a light patina from use on the base, the front of the tail, and the tail tip. Weight: approximately 1.5 kg.
