Grand bougeoir Biot en terre vernissée noire, ancien pied de lampe, années 60
Peu courant, ancien pied de lampe pouvant faire office de grand bougeoir, ou être re-électrifié, en terre cuite vernissée à émail noir métallisé, production artisanale de Biot, cachet en creux sous l'anse, difficilement lisible mais identifiable, travail français vintage des années 1960. Forme élancée avec large base circulaire, coupelle supérieure, agrémenté d’une poignée latérale arrondie donnant une silhouette très graphique et décorative.
Belle présence, hauteur 32cm, diamètre du socle 24cm, diamètre du fût 9cm, ouverture centrale 2,5cm permettant l’usage d’une bougie de type cierge ou plus large dans la coupelle. Bel état d’usage, à signaler plusieurs éclats d’émail autour du fût, plus ou moins anciens certains ont été noircis, un plus marqué d’environ 6mm plus visible car non noirci, petites marques et rayures d’usage, ainsi qu’un discret cheveu au col non fragilisant, l’ensemble restant esthétique et harmonieux. Environ 1,700kg.
🇬🇧 Large Biot candlestick in black glazed earthenware, formerly a lamp base, 1960s
Uncommon, antique lamp base that can serve as a large candlestick or be rewired, made of glazed terracotta with a metallic black enamel finish, handcrafted in Biot, with an impressed mark under the handle, difficult to read but identifiable. A vintage French piece from the 1960s. Slender shape with a wide circular base, a top cup, and a rounded side handle, giving it a very graphic and decorative silhouette.
Impressive presence, 32cm high, 24cm diameter base, 9cm diameter stem, 2.5cm central opening allowing the use of a taper or larger candle in the cup. In good used condition, with several chips in the enamel around the stem, some more recent than others; some have darkened, one more pronounced chip of about 6mm is more visible as it is not darkened. There are also small marks and scratches from use, as well as a discreet hairline crack at the neck, which does not weaken the piece. Overall, it remains aesthetically pleasing and harmonious. Approximately 1.700 kg.
