Coupe décorative en bois noirci sculpté, patine sombre vintage Asie du Sud-Est
Rare magnifique coupe décorative en bois tropical tourné, présentant une patine sombre, profonde et non uniforme, laissant apparaître par endroits ce qui semble être une couche de terre rougeâtre. Patine noire possiblement issue d'un traitement traditionnel du matériau, noircis par brûlage ou fumage ou autre... Bois taillé dans la masse, production artisanale d’Asie du Sud-Est, très probablement d’origine Indonésienne, vintage courant XXe siècle.
Environ 16,5cm de hauteur pour un diamètre de 22cm. Elle présente une fissure d'origine dans la masse du bois sur un coté du plateau ainsi que sur un coté du pied laissant paraître de la terre rouge, ainsi que deux petits accrocs patinés sur le rebord d'origine également, autres petits défauts du bois sans incidence et dans l'esprit de l'objet. L’intérieur de la coupe présente une tache ancienne, peut être un noeud du bois ou un resultat du traitement. Le dessous, anciennement muni d’un feutre de protection. Environ 450gr.
🇬🇧 Decorative bowl in carved blackened wood, dark patina, vintage Southeast Asia
A rare and magnificent decorative bowl made of turned tropical wood, featuring a deep, uneven, dark patina that reveals what appears to be a layer of reddish earth in places. The black patina is possibly the result of a traditional treatment of the material, blackened by burning, smoking, or other means. The wood is carved from a single piece, a handcrafted piece from Southeast Asia, most likely of Indonesian origin, dating from the mid-20th century.
Approximately 16.5 cm high with a diameter of 22 cm. It has an original crack in the wood on one side of the top and on one side of the base, revealing red earth, as well as two small patinated nicks on the original rim. Other minor imperfections in the wood are inconsequential and in keeping with the character of the piece. The interior of the bowl has an old stain, possibly a knot in the wood or a result of the treatment. The bottom was formerly lined with felt. Approximately 450 grams.
