Magnifique grand biscuit bicolore en porcelaine dure, estampillé sous la base L&M, et numéroté 59, Manufacture Letu & Mauger L’Isle-Adam, Val-d’Oise, France. Ancien, XIXe siècle, circa 1860–1890. Modèle figurant Léda fille de Thestios, est l'épouse de Tyndare roi de Sparte, accompagnée de Zeus sous forme de cygne, sujet mythologique tiré des Métamorphoses, intitulé "Léda et le Cygne" traité en céladon foncé et blanc mat, teinte assez peu courante pour ce modèle qui est plus souvent traité en bleu pâle et blanc avec d'avantage de zones en biscuit blanc sur le personnage notamment, il s'agit peut être ici d'un test d'atelier. Belle qualité de sculpture avec drapés fins, anatomie soignée et mouvement élégant de l’oiseau.
Environ 35 cm de hauteur, 20 cm de largeur et de profondeur. Très bel état général, la tête du cygne a été restaurée par un Atelier professionnel, rendu très propre et restauration discrète en présentation. À noter également un cheveu non traversant sous le socle, invisible et sans conséquence. Environ 2-3kg.

Magnificent large two-tone hard-paste porcelain biscuit porcelain figure, stamped L&M under the base and numbered 59, manufactured by Letu & Mauger, L’Isle-Adam, Val-d’Oise, France. Antique, 19th century, circa 1860–1890. This model depicts Leda, daughter of Thestius, wife of Tyndareus, King of Sparta, accompanied by Zeus in the form of a swan. The mythological subject, taken from the Metamorphoses, is entitled "Leda and the Swan." It is executed in dark celadon and matte white, a rather unusual color combination for this model, which is more frequently rendered in pale blue and white with more areas of white biscuit porcelain, particularly on the figure. This may be a workshop trial. The sculpting is of fine quality, with delicate drapery, careful anatomy, and the elegant movement of the bird.
35 cm high, 20 cm wide and deep. In very good overall condition, the swan's head has been professionally restored, resulting in a very clean and discreet display. Also noteworthy is a small, non-penetrating hair under the base, invisible and inconsequential. Approximately 2-3 kg.
